Animal Ambulance
At the start of the new year, Delaware County Animal Control started an animal
rescue. The Animal Ambulance, a donated truck and an all volunteer staff, was
more than five years in the makings. Its available 24 hours a day seven days a
week to all of Delaware County.
On Police Radio they are known as 4179-1. They can be dispatched from Fire
Radio, Police Radio, or can be called directly by the homeowner at 610-522-1113.
The team has undergone special training such as animal CPR and first aid, to
handle injured animals in any situation.
The ambulance hit the street January 1st, 2003 with minimal equipment. The
company is looking for any donations from fire and ambulance companies, as well
as veterinarians. If anyone can donate unused equipment and/or supplies, please
